A form of chalcedony quartz, tiger eye also contains thin needles of asbestos, giving the stone the ability to hold the iridescent sheen. Tiger Eye is often said to be a stone of the mind, assisting one to increase their intuitive abilities, but it also assists in balancing one's will, so that matters of pride and ego do not become too strong, and mistaken for intuition.
