The Crystal Library - Tiger Eye

Tiger Eye is often considered a "seeker's stone," due to the luminescent bands of color it holds in the sunlight.  A form of chalcedony quartz, tiger eye also contains thin needles of asbestos, giving the stone the ability to hold the iridescent sheen.  Tiger Eye is often said to be a stone of the mind, assisting one to increase their intuitive abilities, but it also assists in balancing one's will, so that matters of pride and ego do not become too strong, and mistaken for intuition.  It offers protection against "psychic" attacks.

Tiger Eye was often worn by soldiers of the Roman Army on their breastplates, as a symbol of protection in battle, from evil forces. Today, tiger Eye is used mostly in jewelry and as talismans or amulets.

Tiger Eye holds a 7 on the Moh's Hardness Scale, and can be found in localities such as China, Namibia, South Africa, and the USA.

  1. Caryn,
I had such a wonderful learning experience from meeting you today. I will definitely ask you to speak at my Wednesday night group. Wish you'd join...You'd make the group all that much better! Its only $10.00 a week and you'll have to buy THE CELESTINE PROPHECY and THE TENTH INSIGHT. We are going to do other fun things on those nights...a fairy lesson followed by a fairy hunt, spiritual experiences sharing including any poetry about spirit experience. As you must know, many "logics" of this world don't believe although all the signs of Spirit being with us exist daily. Its a great place to share without ANY judgement. Class starts on Wed Oct 5th. Id love to see you and any friends you want to bring along. Im hoping the word gets out soon enough for people to sign up by Oct1st.
Again, thank you for your help, insights, and very friendly exchanges. You Rock...no pun inended.
    Peace, Love and light,
    Rev. Garnet Wyldefyre
